Tropico’s 1st Birthday Mixtape (Mixed By Havez)
We’ve made it one whole year, and what a time we’ve had! We’ve played alongside the likes of Gilles Peterson, Submotion Orchestra, Onra, Bombay Bicycle Club & Crazy P. We’ve picked up some amazing family members along the way who are all doing big things in their own right and boogie with us month in, month out. All this, and we’ve provided all the dancing and chicken you can shake a melon at. The Birthday Mixtape is a celebration of all things Tropico and draws inspiration from the good times we’ve had and everyone involved.

Gerry Read - Evidence
The young British producer recently released his debut LP, this has to be one of the highlights for us here at Trops.

Lovebirds - Want You In My Soul (Ft. Stee Downes)
We’ve been putting a lot of effort into exploring deep house and the sounds that are subsequently emerging from it of late. The Tropico DJs recently held down a room alongside the likes of Submotion Orchestra and Onra and this got a very timely play as the evening drew to a close. A soulful vocal rendition from Stee Downes round this one off as a perfect accompaniment to finish any good night on a high.

Moodyman - Sugarhill
Revitalising that Tropico feeling with some pure, unadulterated house music from Moodymanc. If you’re into this check out the ‘Father’ EP for more progressive, evolving, deep Detroit-inspired gems.
We’re back by the way. Make way for the Trops.

Recloose - Feels Like Magic (Feat. B. Blade)
It seems like House music is taking over at the moment, and we like it. New Zealand native Recloose pushes all the right buttons here with this latest offering recently released on Amsterdam label Rush Hour. Vocalist B. Blade gives a soulful finish making it one of those tracks to smile to while dancing.

Julio Bashmore - Au Seve
He’s only gone and decided to start his own record label. Thank the house Gods! We’re in for a treat. Bashmore’s ‘Broadwalk Records’ debuts with this release from the man himself on the 2nd of July. Hold tight.

Disclosure - Tenderly
Admittedly, we’re a little delayed in posting this, but it’s too good to neglect. The young duo Disclosure are turning everything they touch to gold, and this is no exception. Perfect summer vibes, readying us for the season of Tropico. Oh yeah.

Py - Lungs (Prod. by George Fitzegerald)
George Fitzgerald, of Hot Flush Recordings, has teamed up with London songstress Py to bring us this dreamy, emotional number. Fitzgerald’s typical downbeat house style accompanies the soothing vocal tones of Py, to make this a track perfect for weekend listening.

Fresh from producing Jessie Ware’s first two solo singles, Julio Bashmore is no doubt a busy man as he steps up for his first show on the ‘In New DJs We Trust’ rotation on BBC Radio 1. Hit the link and enjoy an hour of “mysteriously swashbuckling house music” from a Tropico favourite.

Drake - Fireworks (Deadboy’s Slo Mo House Edit)
Sitting back and watching dusk roll in after a productive day requires a track like this.
